After having presented a concept recently, fold Nokia smartphones running back to show us a glimpse of his future with GEM. This time it is a virtual concept, a smartphone completely covered by a folding screen touch screen, very interesting concept with many possible developments. If the touch screen interfaces are revolutionizing the smartphone, allowing each application to have its own commands without having to rely to a finite number of physical keys, with a full touchscreen phone options widen dramatically.
Think of a camera application that can appear in the buttons click and zoom in optimal positions, or the media player with dedicated keys on the side of the smartphone. Or you can set the background of a phone that hugs the phone, making it unique, hence the concept of GEM, a rough stone that requires a polishing process of creation, in this case we define the shape of the phone, which is its design.
This is certainly an exercise in style with little chance of being realized in the short term, but often the concept that ideas anticipate some manufacturers are studying for products to be introduced in the market, and who knows that some element of ‘interface is not really introduced in the next Nokia devices.
